PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

We are in search of a Cheminformatician to join the Computational Design team to provide practical and theoretical expertise in data science, informatics and molecular modelling to support research projects and contribute to moa remaining at the forefront of evolving technologies.

You will collaborate with scientific and technical teams to provide cheminformatics expertise, including data collection and standardization, database structure, workflow development, data analysis, and visualization.

You will coordinate and perform data analyses on different projects, and communicate results to diverse audiences, such as project teams, senior management and collaborators.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data analysis to discover insights and opportunities 

Develop and deploy models (e.g. QSAR and machine learning) to enable rational compound design and molecular property prediction 

Work closely with projects to propose new compounds and experiments 

Design and maintenance of chemically aware databases

Design, develop and implement robust data processing workflows and storage environments through the use of pipelining tools such as Knime.

Use good programming practices, documentation and reproducible analyses

Identify and critically evaluate new cheminformatics methods and software

Dissemination of results, where appropriate, in the form of conference presentations and research articles

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - Describe required and desirable educational requirements, experience and qualifications.

Required

·       Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry or Chemoinformatics or equivalent industrial experience

·       Programming skills

·       Experience of Agrichemical or Pharmaceutical compound design

 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES - Describe the required and desirable skills and competencies needed to successfully perform the role

Required

·      Ligand-based compound design

·      Compound library design

·      Machine-learning techniques

·      Phys Chem predictions

·      Programming / scripting in a scientific environment, particularly computational chemistry method development

Desirable

·      Understanding of plant biology
